We are in Lucania ...
Aglianico is the most popular grape of Basilicata. Its name comes from Hellenico, the grapes which the Greeks brought from Phoenicia in the first millennium BC. Aglianico wine ages well, ranging from ruby-red to garnet. It has a dry taste, slightly austere and tannic. It is ideal with roasts, game and mature cheeses.

In 1971 Aglianico del Vulture was recognized as a DOC wine. Ever since before the Romans, Mount Vulture, with its distinctive 'Double Summit', has marked the junction between the ancient regions of Sannio, Apuglia and Lucania which was the capital of the Norman territories and the hunting grounds of the Emperor, Frederick II of Swabia.
